Meet the Brands Behind Negroni Month
Events
September is Negroni Month at Rudy’s
For the whole month, we’re celebrating one of Italy’s most iconic cocktails with a menu inspired by the places, people and flavours behind it.
This year, we’ve teamed up with Cocchi, Campari + Malfy Gin, three Italian names with a rich history in aperitivo, to create four Negronis for you to try.
There’s the classic, a few new twists and a little story from Piedmont along the way.
If you want the full Negroni Month lowdown, you can head to our main Negroni Month page to see what else we’ve got planned.
Meet the Italian trio
Before we get to the drinks, let’s meet the brands behind them.
Cocchi
Cocchi has been part of Italian aperitivo culture for over 130 years, making vermouths and aperitivo wines in Piedmont since 1891. With generations of Italian craft and tradition behind it, Cocchi brings its signature depth and character to this year’s Negroni Month menu.
Campari
If you know your Negroni, you’ll know Campari. That unmistakable bitter flavour and iconic red colour are what give the classic Negroni its character. It’s the ingredient that makes a Negroni a Negroni.
Malfy Gin
Malfy brings a taste of the Italian coast to the mix. Known for its bright citrus and vibrant botanicals, Malfy gives our serves a fresh, zesty edge that works perfectly with the bitter notes of a Negroni.
From Piedmont to Rudy’s
There’s a bit of Italy behind this year’s menu too.
Ahead of Negroni Month, Beth Papalia, General Manager at Rudy’s Prestwich, headed to Piedmont, the home of Cocchi, to get to know the region, its aperitivo culture and the people behind the brand.
It was a chance to see where Cocchi’s story began and get a feel for the place that has influenced Italian drinking culture for generations.
The trip helped inspire Negroni Al Sole, bringing together Cocchi Rosa, Campari, Malfy Rosa and grapefruit soda for a bright, refreshing take on the classic.
A little taste of Piedmont, brought back to Rudy’s.
