NEGRONI MONTH IS BACK

From 13th September – 30th September we’ll be teaming up with Campari to create our own state of the art negroni menu for negroni month.

This iconic mix of campari, gin and sweet vermouth is something thats been around for over one hundred years now and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, but this month we’re showcasing them from start to finish by putting our own twist on this classic, to make a drinks menu that goes perfectly with any of our own Rudy’s pizzas.

The Negroni is to this generation, what the cosmo was to the 90’s. A defining cocktail loved worldwide, all made the exact same way in bars across the country and world.

The drink itself has been traced back to as early as 1919 in Florence, Italy. The story goes that the cocktail was born when an Italian bartender responded to a customers demand for a ‘stiffer’ rendition on the classic Americano cocktail, which is a much-tamer mix of campari, vermouth and club soda.

The customer in question? Count Camillo Negroni. Who had developed his taste for the stiffer, stronger drinks while working as a rodeo clown in the American Wild West (true story), and unsurprisingly, once he tried what would go on to be one of the most well-known cocktails across the world – gave his noble name to the resulting concoction.

We’ve chosen flavours close to our heart and even closer to our pizzerias by choosing to make this special menu out of liquors and ingredients we love!

Touches of smoke, fruit, herbs and even brines, this a selection for the flavour chasers out there! Ones who aren’t afraid to try something different but want something that’s classic, well made, and down right delicious.
